Tommy Brian “Tank” Cassady

Tommy “Tank” Cassady age 59 of Cowarts passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 at Southeast Health following a brief illness.  A Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, 11 a.m. at Fowler Family Funeral Home (965 Woodland Drive, Dothan, AL) with Thomas “Brad” Cassady and Chaplain Bobby Thompson officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. 

Tommy was born August 12, 1965 in Alabama to Bricey “Hoppy” and Jewel Martin Cassady.  He attended Wicksburg High School and later worked as a welder at Danco and a mechanic.  He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, being outside tinkering and watching Alabama football. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Bricey “Hoppy” and Jewel Cassady, step mother Christine Cassady.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kim Whitehurst Cassady; sons Curtis Brian Cassady (Shawna Locke), Trey Whitehurst (Brittany), Matthew Whitehurst (Jamie); daughters Kristin Cassady, Megan Whitehurst (David Morris); grandchildren Keana Cassady, Harley Cassady, Waylon Cassady, Bentley Whitehurst, Sawyer Whitehurst, Luke Whitehurst, Aiden Whitehurst, Asher Price, Anniston Thomas, Avery Morris; and is expecting a great grandson; brothers Bobby Thompson, Thomas “Brad” Cassady (Latoya), Timothy Bruce Cassady; sisters Imogene Nowell (Rex), Ellen Dunn, Nancy Cassady (Sam), Jennifer Steed (Ronnie), special friends Mark and Joe.
